Rotting Cake and My Apartment

Even though I'm living in a small town, my apartment is more like a loft you would find in Manhattan, New York.  I live in the "AOL" building, which is short for "Artists on Liberty".  Nothing to do with "America Online".  There is an art gallery at the entrance of the building and different businesses on the first level.  The last artist actually had a rotting cake as his artwork!  I do appreciate art, but come on.

This is in our building too. A local artist turns old cigarette machines into works of art.

Chardonnay and Fireflies I had a wonderful meal at Mozelles, a southern bistro. Our waitress was attentive and the meal was spectacular. While I was sipping my chardonnay and noshing on my risotto, a crazy bug flew in my face and it looked like it was on fire or carrying a glow stick! I swatted it away while I screamed a really shrill girly scream. It was so loud that the people inside the restaurant were staring and I was on the patio. After they pried me out from underneath the table, my friend told me it was just a firefly. A bug...

Yummy Omelettes and Hello Kitty After a confusing drive through town, we ran into this amazing brunch place called Mary's of Course Cafe. The restaurant was filled with bright colors and knick knacks galore! It was like I had died and gone to chachki heaven! I had a fluffy omelette with toast and veggie sausage. They have tasty menu choices for both meat eating and non-meat eating crowds. Our server was awesome and he even wore an apron! The entrance. The inside. The chachkis. How can you go wrong with Hello Kitty in your window? They have an Art-O-Mat like we do in our building!...
